Anyone want to help a new guy?
Looks like I'm ready to take the plunge and buy my first pistol. I'm thinking about heading to Target World in Chalfont to try out a few different ones since they rent guns and make a decision on which one is best for me so I can buy in a couple weeks. This however seems to be a bit of a daunting task since, Although I have shot a few pistols before, I am not completely comfortable going alone.
Would anyone be willing to meet me there and show me the ropes? While I don't have alot of money I would be willing to pay your range fee for helping me out.
I would be looking to go Saturday morning or early afternoon.

LOL, I wish
I know there are some guys living close that would love to help you out for some free range time . . . LOL
You can narrow down your search by asking yourself what are you going to use your pistol for, concealed/open carry, just the range, hunting (would be revolver only in PA).Last edited by tdyoung58; August 6th, 2008 at 11:23 AM.

Re: Anyone want to help a new guy?
I'm looking for something for home defense now but it will double for cc when I get my LTCF. I was thinking about the Bresa Thunder series but my hands may be a bit big. I don't know so I will try a few first. I can't spend alot of money so I may go used.
Of course it does'nt HAVE to be Target World. If someone knows a better place I would be willing to gove it a try.

seem to be a lot of XD .40's around right now pretty cheap since they came out with a XDM. usually a preponderance of Glocks around as well. either one in the right size would make a good HD/CC gun. Don't know a lot about the Bersa guns, sawa nice looking 9mm one the other week, wasn't to awful expensive

I could meet you there. i'm a member so, no range fees for me. Plus, i think you would only be half price---since you are with a member. I can not meet you there this sat. I'm going to the shoot that pennsyplinker is putting togeter. next sat the 16th might work. Pm me and we can work out the details.

I shoot at Target World. Nice bunch of guys there - always willing to help out a newbie. Just tell them you need some guidance and they will explain everything.
I am busy this weekend, otherwise I would come up there. Oh well...

Ready Aim Fire in Bristol has a selection of new and used firearms, and they also will let you try them out before buying. Good bunch of guys there and they don't mind helping you out. Just another option.
