Default So i took my niece to shooting range today...

And it turned out to be better then I expected!!
Here she is shooting Ruger 10/22.

She did okay. My main focus of today is to get her familierise her self with firearm, and basic safety. Safety, point the weapon down the range at all times, how to use sight, that sort of thing. She did all that good.
Her aim was not that great, since this is really her first time shooting gun at all - she never even shot a BB gun before. She got few on paper at 25yds.

    Good enough for me.

But what was suprising was that she wanted to try my Punisher AR.
I figure she can shoot 1 round, just let her try, and she don't want to shoot it again.

Well, I was wrong.. I was VERY wrong!

She ended up using up all the 5.56 I brought with me
I don't care how much 5.56 she shot or how expesive 5.56 has become. She made one proud uncle out of me!

I wonder if I should build another AR. Im thinking M-4 Carbine may just be the perfect size for her..

    Nice report!

Like your niece, my wife also prefers to shoot the more powerful cartridges. Although she likes the cheap cost of the .22 arms and ammo, she gets bored shooting them rather quickly!

Also... looks like your niece may have picked up an admirer at the other end of the range!

Thanks for posting this... and photos too!

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

That little boy? kid was shooting CZ453, which I regard it as one of best bolt action .22lr outhere!!

He is actualy an older brother of Kristina's friend(they just happened to be there when we were there).
I let the kid shoot my Punisher AR, since I'm all about get everyone interested in shooting.

But I didn't think he cared too much for it, as as you can see in pic, kid is lefty, and empties flying across inch away from his face didn't seemed to please him that much..

Another future shooter! Great to hear of another young person getting started in the sport of shooting the right way. Well done.

Only one problem from what I have seen. Too bad she is being raised as a Steelers fan...! There is still time to fix the damage and get her onboard with the Eagles I also heard Eagles fans shoot better than Steeler fans. IDK just something I read some where
