Re: For the AK Fanatics
Crazy.
I'm thinking of buying one for the hell of it after christmas. They're not much over $200, and holding one alone looks fun.

Re: For the AK Fanatics
I have multiple AKs...sold my pre89 imported ones during the ban for big cash..
2 SAR-1s in 7.62x39, one with a folding stock, one fixed
1 AK Krinkov pistol in x39
1 Bulgarian SLR-105 setup with a folding stock, in 5.45x39.5
1 WASR-10 in 223 with a folding stock.
the 223 one shoots with a recoil like a 22LR, has more kick forward with the bolt closing than back:-)
everybody should have an AK, they aren't too accurate, minute of chest out to 300 yds, but they almost always work in any conditions!"Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Re: For the AK Fanatics
I won't reinvent the wheel by selling anyone on the AK. But I will point out a decent book about the history. It's already generated a bit of a swirl, controversy-wise.

Re: For the AK Fanatics
How much does an AK cost?
In some parts of the world, it can be purchased for as little as $10. A good worldwide price list comparison is here in Foreign Policy along with other AK details.
In most places an AK costs between $100 and $300 depending upon the level of hostilities. As tensions rise, so do prices.
