    Default Good single handgun safe

I am looking for some suggestions on a single handgun safe that I can mount next to my bed, that I can access easily without having to walk over to my main gun safe. I would like to mount it on/in my nightstand. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.......just trying to keep my young kids safe, yet have easy access.

Take a look at these guys:

They have several biometric-lock safes that are large enough for one or two pistols that could be mounted by your bed.

And as for their construction, I'll let my other thread speak on that:

I use the gun vault. Got mine at Cabelas when it was on sale.

I have the 1000 deluxe. The 2000 deluxe has two tiers (a shelf) which is good if you put wallet and keys in it at a hotel. But it is taller.

The deluxe has good features which includes an alarm system. I recommend it. It is tapered so if you place it under the driver's seat for when you go into a prohibited place, it is mostly hidden and hard to spot. Plus you can get a cable to cable it to the seat or something in the hotel room. The cable will just slow someone down, not defeat a pro. If you set the alarm, it should scream while they begin to tamper with it. The alarm is motion sensitive. I like mine and travel with it.

Have had it for around five years now. When home, it sets on my night stand. It also has a feature that will let you know if someone played with the keys and tried to open it or not. Good if you have kids so you know if someone tampered with it. My kids never did but I know not all kids are the same.
