Thumbs up What is your favorite Quote?

"History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction.”

    Calvin and Hobbes

"These are interesting times. We don't trust the government, we don't trust the legal system, we don't trust the media, and we don't trust each other! We've undermined all authority, and with it, the basis for replacing it! It's like a six-year-old's dream come true!"

Gone to Florida to fight the Indians. Will be back when the war is over.
    Colonel Commandant Archibald Henderson, USMC
in a note pinned to his office door, 1836
Of every one hundred men in battle, ten should not even be there. Eighty, are nothing but targets. Nine are the real fighters, we are lucky to have them since they make the battle. Ah, but the one—one is the Warrior—and he brings the others home. —Heracletus

I like to focus my daily meditation on the following Gandhi quotes:
(Note: Yep, I'm a professional hippie. But with good personal hygiene.)

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

You must be the change you want to see in the world.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

I HEARTILY ACCEPT the motto, — "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe, — "That government is best which governs not at all"; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have.

    -Henry David Thoreau
