Re: Just found this one on MillionMomMarch site
The Brady Center supports common sense gun policies that protect children and communities from gun violence. Every day, eight children and teens are shot and killed by a firearm and 48 more are wounded. Firearms are the second-leading cause of death (after motor vehicle accidents) for young people ages 1-19 in the U.S. Persons carrying loaded guns in public have repeatedly been involved in shootings, including accidental shootings of innocent bystanders. Studies show that laws allowing the carrying of concealed firearms have not reduced crime and, if anything, have increased violent crime, including murder and robbery.
Cars kill more kids, why don't they favor banning them?
Persons carrying loaded guns in public yada yada yada.
Notice they don't say persons LEGALLY carrying guns in public. Once again, they take the statistics for criminals, and try to apply it to legally carrying citizens.
Lying scheming two faced (sarah brady bought a hunting rifle for HER 17 year old son for christmas a couple of years back) alarmist is all they are.
Anyone that can read and comprehend (which unfortunately leaves out most democrats) can see right through this bullshit.Go sell crazy some where else, we're all stocked up here.
Political power grows from the muzzle of a gun.

Re: Just found this one on MillionMomMarch site
This is some older information.
When it's a homicide (and really, in most cases of where it's an accident) the shooter and the victim are two different people. Keeping guns secured against 5 year-olds doesn't do a hell of a lot of good when the shooter is a 40 yo drunk, a 25 yo crack head or a 17 yo gang banger. Even so, in 2004 there were 28 children 10 and under accidentally shot to death in the US (119 if you include homicides and suicides as well). In comparison, 54 children 10 and under accidentally killed riding bicycles, 442 hit and killed as pedestrians, 86 from falls, 641 from drowning and 46 from "adverse effects" of medical care or drugs. Seems as if the best advice for parents is don't worry about the guns, but never to let your kids learn to walk or be anywhere around water (watch out for bicycles and doctors, too).
