Ruger 10/22
Anyone familiar with 10/22 prices in the Harrisburg area or know of any 10/22 sales going on? I'm wondering where the best place to buy one would be?
I've got several Wal-marts, 2 Dick's, a Dunham's, a Gander Mtn., a Bass Pro Shop, and several local gun shops.
I can call around or go to the stores, but if anyone has any info right now, I'd appreciate it.

Base guns at Wal Mart tend to be cheapest.
With new, match barrels running under $100, the only thing left stock may be the action in five yeas.
Fun guns to mod.

Re: Ruger 10/22
stopped by a local shop on my way home from work tonight and they want $194.50 before tax and everything.
I'll either call or take a road trip tomorrow to some other places like Dick's and Gander Mtn. Calling would save me a lot of time, but I don't have anything else to do tomorrow anyway.

Re: Ruger 10/22
Dunham's did have them for $169.99 so I bought one. Now to decide how to modify it? I have several ideas in mind already. Going to go shoot it here soon.
When I was thinking about an AK-47 (about a week or 2 ago) I called Dunham
s and asked if they had any. The guy said no. I walk in there today and they had at least 20 of them in the case! Maybe they just got some in though, because this Sunday and Monday they are on sale. Looked like they had several WASR-3s from what I could see.

Re: Ruger 10/22
If you don't have 10/22, go buy one now!
Man this thing is fun! I got it Saturday and shot a bunch of rounds through it. I was using the iron sights. It shot ok at 25 yards off a portable bench. I had the barrel supported by the attachable Y rest but had to hold the rest myself. I do have a real gun rest but I don't think it will fit on the portable.
On Sunday, I found an old beat up 4x15 Crosman Airgun scope in my closet and put that on. I'll get a better scope eventually. For such a crappy little scope, it works pretty damn good after I got it adjusted! Can't imagine how accurate it would be with a real gun rest and a better scope, and this is just out of the box!
I probably have over 200 rounds through it now.
I also started ordering parts for modifications. I ordered 3 30 rd. mags, a recoil buffer, an extended mag release, and an auto bolt release.
I'm still trying to decide on a new stock. There are so many choices! Unfortunately, it seems like most of the ones I really like are at least $200!

Re: Ruger 10/22
Last christmas my wife bought me one at dicks for 149.99. I got one for my brother on law as well.
If you guys like the 10/22.... you gotta check these out. I have been drooling for months, but my gun budget is spent for a bit. buy a set and let me know how they are!!! I LOVE shooting M1 and AR 15... these are right up my alley.

I have a set of "tech-sights" on back order. They state they won't be shipping until end of this month. If you relly want a cool "black rifle" type stock check these out: http://www.1022central.com/
