Default My Anti-undead weapon got updated..

My newest anti-undead weapon in its origial form..

Which was not too bad, other then it was horrible on my hand, due to poor design of pistol grip(it just did not agree with my hand), and can't really aim anything past 10yds. Would be great back up weapon strapped to your back pack while you do your main job with AR or something, but my AR is not completed yet.
So to make it more manageble, off shopping I went.

Added Knoxx Ops NRS collapsable stock to it. I also added scope base so that I can add some optics.
I wanted the recoil reduction stcok, but noone in area(and I drove all over two counties looking for them yeasterday), so I settled for NRS. I'll likely trade up to recoil reduction stock when I come across one.

Slapped on some scope I had laying around(obviosly, thats not permanent. I'm in search of perfect reddot optics. This here is what I'm thinking --> http://www.bsaoptics.com/scope.aspx?product=302)
Good thing is that because NRS stock makes your eyesight to sit higher, when you bring weapon up to your sholder, scope is right at your eye level(which makes iron sight less practical i guess)
Its amazing how much it can change its image by just adding buttstock to it isn't it? Went from no nonsense look to ready to get upclose and personal with any undead..

Next to my other SHTF gear

Couple of other things I'm looking to get - Obviously a new red dot optics, then Shell holder for buttstock, and side saddle. 3 point tac sling, as soon as i figure out best way to attach sling to front of weapon, as there is nothing there right now. Laser and light(if I go with above mentioned optics, these two would be taking care of).
    Vertical grip for the forearm.
And possibly porting barrel, as Mossberg offer it for $35, I think its cheap enough. But I donno if I want to stick with 20' barrel or change it to 18.5" yet(prolly stick with it, as I can't not find any 18.5" barrel anywhere..)

Oh and I should also paint the Glock field knife to match the rest too..

Cool Re: My Anti-undead weapon got updated..

OK, first..I like the 500 anyway, so I am a bit biased..Never did like a pistol grip for a shotgun, never has been a lot of control.

When I first saw your gun...Ahhhh...OK, its a Mossy!!

Now, when I see your gun droool...I want the stock!!! I have been looking at stocks for mine lately,( I got the old standard 500) wasn't sure if I wanted fold over, fold side, straight stock w/grip...BUT now thats what I want..How much can I ask??? I saw the heat shield at Dunhams for 24.00 and a foldover for 69...

    Yes, thats a sweet 500

I was originaly looking for one of these...
    http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SHT006-1.html
But I heard several comments that they aren't really well made.

Knoxx ops recoil reduction stock can be anywhere from $119~$149. Probrem is that noone seems to have them in stock.
MidwayUSA had them last time I checked for $119.

NRS are anywhere from $59~$89. I paid top $$ for mine, because I wanted it, and I wanted it NOW. But if your willing to wait week or so for shipping, then its much cheaper...

Edit - see that they are now backordered. But they do have recoil reduction one in stock, whcih is what I wanted in first place

I want to pick up a 590 parkerized model. The heat shield is so when you have the bayonet mounted you can grab hold like your supposed to and drive the bayonet in deep. I wonder if one of those 16" 1897T bayonets would fit the Mossberg?

Speaking of bayonet, is there any aftermarket bayonet lug for 500?

If I had a mill, I'd be making bayonet lugs for every damn thing.

Well, noone makes it apparently, and I have no mill.

What I did have today was little money, and time. So I went and bought more stuff for it today. Well, it was only like $30 anyway.

    And red dot optics.

What you guys think of BSA Tactical seriese red dot optics??
