Taurus 1911
I am very interested in the Taurus 1911 45 ACP. I have read excellent reviews about it. Any feedback?

Re: Taurus 1911
Buy one soon...prices are going in the wrong direction. To the point where the PT1911 won't be a bargain anymore. Most local shops I see that have the PT1911 are running from $510-570. I might sell mine if I get a SW1911Sc/PD, but they are really good pistols.

Re: Taurus 1911
This is what my gun guy told me. I wanted to go for 24/7 OSS 45ACP but he told me the 1911 was a much better gun.... I am going to get the stainless steel one.

I love my PT1911. All the bells and whistles (mostly) without the cost. Mine shoots better than I can hold.

Posted to this thread so as not to start a new one.
Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the Taurus PT1911 hammer containing the integrated safety with a standard 1911 hammer?"Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"

Re: Taurus 1911
Yes, it is possible...I have seen it done several times at:
www.taurusarmed.com
Actually, almost all of the PT1911's parts are interchangeable with standard M1911 parts!

Re: Taurus 1911
+1 on all the above... Get it and get it now!
I just shot my sixth one this past weekend. They have all been runners. The triggers are crap, but that's to be expected on a budget 1911 and not a big deal to have smoothed out. Go for it."Happiness, is a warm gun." -St. John of Liverpool
