It is advised to minimize verbal interaction with LEO. In a situation where you are stopped in your vehicle, what would be the proper way to reply to questions demanding more than a simple yes or no? For example, "Where are you heading", "Where are you coming from" etc...?

I want to put an additional swing on this post. I would never advise anyone to do anything that they don't HAVE to do during a police encounter. On the same token, I would not BASH the police or speak negatively about them to my children. I would also never instruct them to NOT speak to the police. This type of behavior is responsible for the inner city Us vs. Them attitude that is all together bad for the community. A man gets stabbed outside of a night club in front of 300 others and no one sees a damn thing. A friend of mine had recovered what he believed to be a stolen bicycle. He attempted to ask three teenage boys if the bike was there's and the mom screamed at them from the house to "Get the hell away from the police, I told you never to talk to them". This makes the kids not want to speak to, or trust the police, and it also leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the officer. That is bad for everyone. A disdain for the police, and a disdain for the citizens of the city.

    searched: Video url /nothing

Oh well, can't make everyone happy.

This video is not about being mean to cops. It's about protecting your 5th amendment rights.

A cop conducting an investigation isn't your friend. He's trying to catch bad guys. It's what we pay them to do, and it behooves us all to remember that. Say what you need to, but there is no advantage to you in volunteering information, or answering questions you don't need to.
