    Default Pressure switch problem

    About a month ago I mounted a tactical light on my shotgun. The velcro adhesive strips for the pressure switch (that came with the switch) have already lost their adhesive abilty. What do you guys use to attach these switches? Will superglue harm or deteriorate the plastic switch covering?

    {Not sure if this is the right section to post this in}

    You can buy double-sided velcro and wrap it tight around the grip and the switch. You can use big and strong rubber bands, but they decay. Duct tape always works but is ghetto. 90 MPH tape always works and is also ghetto. But the chicks dig it.

    Go to an office supply store and ask for some quality double sided adhesive tape.

    I'd go to the hardware store and buy Velcro branded velcro. Over the years, I've found that a) knock off velcro doesn't stick well b) very few glues work well on Velcro except what they put on it.

    Clean the surfaces very, very, very well with something that won't leave a residue. Windex and then some rubbing alcohol comes to mind.

    Can't use anything that wraps around. The only spot available to mount the pressure switch is on the forend that you pump. The velcro supplied with it is double-sided. Maybe there is a better quality tape out there, but even with that, I'm concerned that when the hot weather comes it too will loosen like what I have now. I'm not going to be taking it off and on, so I was hoping to glue it on (the switch - not the velcro). Is there a safe glue that anyone else has used?

    It depends what material you are trying to attach it to. The first thing I'd do is try to find better velcro strips with adhesive backs--the patches I've used have held to different materials pretty well. If those didn't hold on their own, I would use some kind of glue. I like Gorilla glue because it has a very strong hold, but it's not something that will come off and I'm not sure if it will react with soft plastics. If you decide to use a glue, make sure you follow the instructions. And don't expect Krazy glue or Elmer's to hold anything in place.

    Thanks. I'll try the hot glue first since I already have some and its not messy. If that fails I'll go with the silicone.

    3M brand double sided tape for use in attaching car moldings and badges. Impervious to heat, water, ect.. Just be sure both surfaces are totally clean and oil free.

    Have you ever tried to take off one of those dealer badges stuck to a trunk lid?

    Auto part stores sell it, and I believe even Wal-Mart carries it.
