Re: promised land state park
You might. Depends on the park and who's running it.
Some of these parks are run by former Hitler youth members and their henchmen. Other's are willing to be cool if you are. I didn't realize it before, but individual park managers have quite a bit of leeway about how they run "their" park. I have that on good authority after talking to a few of them over the years. Remember, the park rangers (the ones with guns, cuffs, mace, radios, etc.) can bust your cookies hard if they see the need. They carry all the force of law a regular cop does AFAIK. And, a campground host carries a lot of sway with the Rangers most times. They can radio them up pretty easily most parts of the day, don't know about at night in remote areas.
I don't know of specific MWAG calls, but I find it hard to believe they don't happen. We spend a lot of time in State Park campgrounds and have yet to have a problem, but I keep it well concealed just in case. Don't want to scare the kiddies. Oh, and all those red solo cups....that's just tea and soda. Yeah....sure.

Re: promised land state park
I have a Cabin in PLSP and the Park Ranger is more elusive than Yogi & Boo Boo Bear! If you want to see a PR go to the PR Cabin. Beyond that they drive around in SUV's and seldom ever get out. I have never seen one on Foot patrol !
As far as OC, IMO if anyone were Arrested for OC it would be a Premtion Violation! But IANAL, nor a Test Subject...........
BTW Pickrel Point has just been completely rehabbed and if I were camping up there, that's where I would go. I have camped before the rehab and it was really bad. Also the Road around the lake is in very poor condition, unless repair work has been started. Watch out for Moon sized Craters if you are driving any thing small. Also if you decide to go Hiking take a Compass and know how to use it. Many people get lost because PLSP in on top of the Mountain it is flat. Rattle Snakes, Bees and other critters abound. Watch out gathering Firewood. Lock your stuff up if you can. Theft does happen in the Park. I have been going up there for 30 years and have never had any problems with any one myself.Last edited by Daycrawler; April 11th, 2014 at 03:02 AM.

Re: promised land state park
You can also camp at US Army Corps of Engineers parks.
ATF =
Alcohol allowed, just don't annoy everyone and keep the area clean
Tobacco Allowed
Firearms Allowed - except in office buildings
Hunting allowed except in marked off areas..
And with the Federal dollars they are usually in very good condition.

Re: promised land state park
Thank you! I have been Hunting Fishing and camping. I have never Caught a Trophy Fish, but there are plenty to catch. Over near the Dam breast you can Rent Boats if you like. No Motor boats are allowed to be used, (In the lake) except for the Elusive park ranger. Some guys will use a Trolling Motor and Have the Out Board still on the Boat. I guess the park allows it because I have seen it many times.

ACE also restricts firearm possession elsewhere:

(1) In the possession of a Federal, state or local law enforcement officer;
(2) Being used for hunting or fishing as permitted under §327.8, with devices being unloaded when transported to, from or between hunting and fishing sites;
(3) Being used at authorized shooting ranges; or
(4) Written permission has been received from the District Commander.
(b) Possession of explosives or explosive devices of any kind, including fireworks or other pyrotechnics, is prohibited unless written permission has been received from the District Commander.Last edited by tl_3237; April 11th, 2014 at 03:17 PM.
