Scare at Guthsville
I went shooting at G-ville this morning. I went to the 50Ft. range. There where two guys shooting( father and son????). I put my gear on the picnic table on the other side of the range. When I looked up the older of the two men was working on the the gun and it was pointed at me, not down range. Since I am a rather large target, I packed up and moved to the 25/50 yd. handgun range. In hindsite, I probly should have talked to the man and told him what he was doing wrong, but I just moved on. Jay

He was probably clueless he was even putting you in danger.
I've only been there half a dozen times...and maybe shared a range once.
If you see anyone leaving their junk on the plinking range, remind them to pick it up or the club board will close it down (one of them was complaining at the last meeting)...which would be too bad since its the only plinking range around. I usually pickup what others have left behind.___________________

They where shooting at clay birds that they had set on the metal rails, on the 50ft. range. I'm sorry now that I didn't say anything. By the way, the plinking range looks great.

Re: Scare at Guthsville
Yet another reason why I don't go to public ranges anymore.
I actually knew a guy in AZ that made his own bodyarmor. He would always wear it to the range with him. One day some guy in the booth next to him at the range ND'd and the bullet went through the wall, and into his vest.
Thank god for private ranges.

Re: Scare at Guthsville
Guthsville is a private range.

The rules list some restrictions, but I've seen plenty of AKs and ARs there...including mine :-)
Currently, the plinking range is closed till things are sorted out with an adjacent landowner.___________________

Guthsville is a great organization... good rule of not allowing guests. Reasonable membership dues and a junior program. Join the NRA if you are considering joining Guthsville.
Shame about the JackA's that mess up the plinking range... always been one of my favorite spots.
