Advice for cutting a leather holster?
I have a galco shoulder holster that I've been carrying a Beretta px4 storm subcompact in. It fits the gun well, but is a hair too long.
I'd ideally like the end of the holster to stop at the end of the barrel or even allow the barrel to protrude a hair.
I watched a few videos on cutting soft leather and while they certainly made it look easy, i know it isn't going to be that easy since i don't have any specialty tools and don't plan to buy any for a one time operation.
I have access to relatively sharp knives. But that is about it. I don't know anybody who does leather work in my area.
Any advice on how not to screw this up?
The cut i plan to make doesn't go across any seems or fasteners. It is just leather folded up like a taco. So I'll be cutting through 2 pieces at once (likely multiple passes).
Do i need to do anything special to dress the ends that I'll be creating with the new cut?
Anybody in lower Bucks that knows that they are doing want to get paid to do this?
I don't want to send the holster off as it is my daily carry and I'd like it to be fitted to the px4 size.
As a fun aside, the holster also fits my cz75d pcr and was intended for a Beretta 92.

Sharp knife and careful cutting (i suggest a razor knife). Dress the edges with edge wax and a soldering iron on low heat to burnish it.
Hammer and razor blade or chisel works well too, or straight punches. I have a set of the latter and you are close enough i could loan them to you if youd like

Or a shoe repair shop, if there are any around. Some tailor's do leather work for coats.

There is a leather shop in new hope right on main street, they make all sorts of custom belts, wallets, holsters etc. I'm certain they could do it

Razor knife or celotex knife with new blade. Draw the line of the cut before starting with the knife. Burnish your edges with wax paper.
