Craigslist anyone?
I'm considering a purchase from Craigslist, and I've never 'craig'ed' before. Aside from the obvious red warning at the top of the page, when purchasing something with a title, what should I be sure to do, or not do?
Has anybody had any bad experiences with a Craigslist purchase?

Re: Craigslist anyone?
One thing I do suggest is if your hiring a contractor off of craigslist be very careful. My brother has had a few clients that call him after getting ripped off on craigslist.
When a man shows up in a mini van with ladder racks and a magnet sign on the side that should be your first warning. Secondly if they seem in a major rush and want to start the next day without really going over much of anything... be suspicious. Odds are he'll take your money for materials and be on his way to his next scam.
Good luck with the camper!! I hope it all goes smoothly. No friend ever served me, and no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full

Re: Craigslist anyone?
once you have one you will enjoy camping alot more i bout one off of craigslist for $150 it was a beater on the outside but everything inside was in decent shape it was so much better than a tent. we used it 2 seasons then sold it for $300
only advice i can give you:
everybody puts a higher price on their items because they expect you to "chew" them down on their price. and they have a price in there heads that they are willing to pay and from past experience if they want $1200 for it and you want to pay $1000 and you offer $1000 they will counter offer with $1100 but if they want $1200 and you offer $800 they usually counter with $1000. what im trying to say is dont offer what you want to pay since they will just meet you in the middle. hope that makes sense. but 90% of the things i get on craigslist go that exact route
good luck and have fun camping.

I've never had a problem with Craigslist...it's the best way to get rid of - or obtain - college textbooks!

Re: Craigslist anyone?
Good experiences buying. Only problem I had was selling. Some people scam you by sending you a check for way more than the amt, and ask you to wire back the difference... with strange explanations as to why they have to do it that way. I almost did it! Then I saw that craigslist itself described this very scam on their site. I was stupid for even considering doing it!
