Default What constitutes a religion? Is it the freshness of the fries?

    http://www.thetoque.com/030603/mcreligion.htm

Yes, yes, yes, it's a parody, and more than a tug at the ear of Catholicism. for sure. But, I'm just wondering, what is it that might constitute a religion in this modern world, with its jumbled up, traditional belief systems all in close proximity to one another, managing to create a bit of mishmash between themselves, as people sort out the divinity/no divinity question and face its enormity?

Is a strict approach with rigid, long-ago laid down litany and theology the way, or are we evolving away from that and more towards an anything-goes, wholly inclusive model that has no standards by which worshipers and congregations can be held accountable to a central authority?

Like the one you have that any faith is simple a bunch of insane beliefs? Sounds like classical definition of the religion of hedonism to me.

No, religion is the Cliff's Notes to reality. Instead of spending a lifetime and hundreds of thousands of dollars to understand something, you can just have... faith. :\

Yet, faith and religion are good things. Though, too many uneducated rally around its perceived simplicity and never even realize that they missed the point of religion.
