Just received my initial carry permit
When I filled out my application, I checked off, protection, hunting, target practice, and gun collecting. I thought I would be issued a "protection & recreation" permit. My question is this... am I allowed to carry, while hunting? or, do I have to apply for a sportsmans license also, or am I good to go, anytime anywhere? can someone advise? many thanks.

You are allowed to carry when hunting with your LTCF.
The Sportsmans Permit is only good while hunting, fishing, trapping, dog training and going to/from the locations of the activities. No need to get one now that you have LTCF.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Re: Just received my initial carry permit
You are allowed to carry whatever hangun you want while hunting, even a semi auto and it can be concealed however you want. However, if you are carrying a semi auto and wound an animal, DO NOT use the semi auto to finish off the animal. If you do you have broken the PGC rule of no hunting with semi automatic firearms (the PGC defines "firearm" differently than others). If you carry a revolver while hunting you can use it to complete the job if need be (revolvers and single shot handguns that use center fire cartridges larger than .20 caliber are allowed by the PGC).
