Default S&W 586 cylinder binding on two chambers

I have a Smith and Wesson 586 with an odd problem. When I dry-fire it double action, the cylinder binds when going through two of the chambers. It's smooth on the other four. It doesn't bind to the point that it locks up, the trigger just gets much harder to pull. Does anyone have ideas about what could cause this issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bent crane. Take it to a gunsmith to confirm, and get it fixed pronto.

Sounds right to me, bent crane. I just had same thing with my m27. Gunsmith asked if I ever flip-close the cylinder. I had just bought it two weeks before and would NEVER mistreat a weapon like that.

Hard to tell without looking at the 586, but if it's a dash nothing or dash 1 it could be the firing pin bushing

Extractor rod could also be bent, A bent rod can cause this issue, Remove extractor rod and try again, Or with open cylinder, Spin cylinder and watch rod closely.
