Default Crimson Trace on a revolver.

I almost ordered the Crimson Trace grips for a Ruger SP101 but I am glad I waited. Today when a friend came to my work for a visit I asked what he was carrying today. He had a J frame Smith with CT grips. We went into the back and he unloaded it and let me check it out. First thing I noticed is when I indexed the gun I completely obscured the laser. That totally changed my mind about getting them so now I will keep the money I had set aside for them and use it for something else. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks, B

I am glad you posted this, I was about to order CT's for my snubbie "sight unseen". I had laser grips on a 1911 and LOVED it so when I decided to make my S&W 638 my summer pocket/IWB gun I figured I should put the grips on. Now I'll be sure to check them out first! Thanks!

I have a set on my wife's Taurus 85. I have no issue with the laser becoming obsucred.

I always considered the laser grips as a toy. I saw a used set for about half price and picked them up for my 642 just for grins. They're great for dry firing with regard to smoothing out your trigger pull and maintaining poa. I took the snubbie to the range and was happy with the way things turned out. I understand what you mean when you say you cover the light but when your finger goes to the trigger, problem solved. I've changed my mind about them and now see them as an advantage in an SD situation.

I have a set on my M&P Compact. No problems with it...and I keep my hands as high as I can.

I dont use a defensive revolver, but I have shot a few with CT on them. No problems.

If they dont work for you...then they just dont work. Good thing you found out before you made a purchase.
