    Default Remington Nylon 66 help

I've rebuilt a Remington Nylon 66 that had been in a closet missing parts since I was a kid. I've gotten all the parts, installed them, and I'm down to one feed issue.

If I only put on round in the feed tube it works fine. But when I put multiple in they push too far forward and two problems occur. On the cartridge is tilted too far and the hammer misses the rim to push the round forward, and two the hammer hits the bullet and causes a misfeed.

I've tried a couple different brands of long rifle, but they all are the same legnth. I'm thinking the possibilities are

    1. The cartridge stop needs to be just a hair longer (32nd, maybe 16th of an inch)

    2. The brands of cartridges are too long and I need to find one with a shorter bullet

    3. The feed ramp is at too steep of an angle. (but the spring looks like it is in place and everything works fine with a single cartridge.)

I tried posting at www.nylonrifles.com but haven't gotten an answer, so trying here.

    thanks for any help

I can't help you with your problem, but you've reminded me of the Nylon 66 I had about 40 years ago. I got a job overseas and sold it for something like $30. Wish I had it now. It was the best shooting semi-auto .22 I ever had.

I haven't had the pleasure of shooting it yet. I grew up with it as the "broken plastic rifle". I finally researched what it was and decided, I want to get this working again.
