AR-Pistol Lower test with Rifle Upper
I have all the parts coming in to do a budget AR-15 300BLK pistol with stabilizing brace lower. But I have not got the upper yet as I have yet to find the parts I want at the price I want.
After I build the lower. Is there an issue with using one of my rifle uppers to test it out? Or should I just wait until I finish the pistol upper?"No, it's just a machine. I'm the weapon." - Jack Harper in Oblivion

It's fine, just not the other way around, then it's not fine...

Re: AR-Pistol Lower test with Rifle Upper
Hahahahaha!!! I just had a similar question pop into my head a few days ago.
I got my SBA3 pistol brace in, but don't have my 2nd pistol lower completed and that brace doesn't fit a pistol tube, so I couldn't try it out on my other pistol. I removed the MFT Minimalist stock from a carbine and slid the SBA3 brace onto the tube. NICE!
Did I just "reconfigure it" into a "long barreled pistol"??? LOL!!!I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

A rifle with a brace doesn’t sound like you’re starting with a pistol. IANAL

As long as you never have a stock on it you van use any length barrel you want.

Re: AR-Pistol Lower test with Rifle Upper
Because I want to follow the law that way if I have to testify I don't have to purger myself.
However almost directly after I posted this thread it became a moot point. I found a used 5.56 upper at a great price that I bought and will shoot until the right deal on a 300BLK barrel comes around and then ill just swap out the barrel.
Maybe I keep the 5.56 barrel for something else. But ill probably just sell it"No, it's just a machine. I'm the weapon." - Jack Harper in Oblivion

Yes. In fact, when the barrel is over 16" long you can even put a VFG on it without running afoul of the NFA.

Re: AR-Pistol Lower test with Rifle Upper
Sounds like a thought police crime.......
I am not suggesting you do anything illegal. But using reverse logic how would you prove you didn't have a rifle stock on the receiver first. Did you videoptape yourself unpacking the box and immediately installing the pistol brace? Hope you remembered to get a clear shot of the serial number.
