LEGAL AGE TO BUY AR15????
Im 20 years old, clean record and tried to buy a complete AR15 from gander mountain in robinson twp. The salesman turned me away saying I must be 21 in order to buy it. Im kinda confused but also new to the whole thing but i thought as long as it wasnt a stripped lower or something i was alright. Someone at the range told me it was BS and he shoulda let me buy it but i wana make sure thats true before i go complain since im having a hell of a time finding an ar15 in my budget

Re: LEGAL AGE TO BUY AR15????
seems like gander mountain makes an AR sound like its a handgun, cuz they see a pistol grip on it,i was wodnering if that applied to AR15s as well as it does to pistol grip folding stock shotguns..

Give those bastards hell. They are violating the law. Or better yet, don't patronize their establishment. There are plenty of other independent shops that would love your business.

If it's a rifle or shotgun and as long as it meets the length requirements (shouldn't be an issue in this case) you are fine.....pistol grip has no bearing.
He should have been able to sell it to you like any other rifle or shotgun.

Re: LEGAL AGE TO BUY AR15????
This is an evolving issue. It appears to be a Gander Mountain Corp. policy to comply with a highly questionable requirement being promulgated by the PA State Police firearms division. See the referenced threads for more details.

Re: LEGAL AGE TO BUY AR15????
thanks for the fast feedback. can anyone recommend a place around me for buying ammo/gunsmiths/or trying to find an AR? Im in Moon Township, right next to the Pittsburgh Airport. Right now i still go to gander to buy my .22lr ammo but they are starting to give me a hard time about that too. Id like someplace thats second amendment friendly.
