Default What should I pay for a 1894/30-30 just for hunting?

Neighbor has a 30-30 he doesn’t use anymore. Asking 450 might be negotiable. It’s worn and no prize but he has used it for years. I think it’s an early 70’s Winchester.

truegunvalue.com which is a reasonable pricing tool gives $829 as an average price for a used Winchester 1894 in .30-30 win.

Depends on condition....how worn are we talking? Post 64 version, I've seen ~$300 for some pretty rough examples (major blue loss, lots of rust, and/or major wood finish issues). Personally, find the Marlin to be a better gun but that's just me (based on scoping options, mostly).

$450 seems somewhere between fair and maybe a tad high, depending on condition.

That's probably a little high for a very worn post-64.
