News item that Sams club is starting to limit the amount of rice that can be purchased. It also said some Americans stocking up on food items.

The most shocking thing about that story is that so many americans actually still cook at home.

You would think, instead, that fast food places would limit people to 2 visits per day.

Take a better look at the grocery store shelves. Bread shelves at the local Giant haven't been stocked past half full for two weeks. Rice is only about half stocked, if they have any. Flour shelves haven't been full for weeks. Eggs have been OUT several times.

In fact, the store shelves haven't been near as full in a number of areas. Cathy and I were actually talking about it before the news stories even started coming out.

FWIW, haven't noticed any inventory reductions locally at the grocery.

What I'm reading is the limited sales are directed towards bulk purchasers, like restaurants & other outfits that sell prepared foods.

They're reporting that the purchase limitations are down to consumer level...yet.
