Training Courses?
Just Curious how many of you have taken any kind of Firearms training courses not including Military Service(THANK YOU).
I have a friend who is new to firearms and is looking to buy a pistol and also wants to take a course as well. I have own a G19 for many years but only recently started shooting it. I never really had any type of instructions just kind of looked online for ideas on what to do(and not DO) so I wouldn't mind taking a class as well.
We are looking into the classed at TropGun since it is convenient to both of our homes. Just looking for some feedback on Course whether they be at Trop or somewhere else.
Thank you,
Steve

NRA Basic Pistol is a great place for your friend to start.

Re: Training Courses?
+2 On the NRA Basic Pistol Class.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

I see you're in Shillington. If you are looking for training closer to home, I've heard good things about Sensibly Armed in Mt Penn. http://sensiblyarmed.com
I haven't taken any of their classes, but I understand they're big on training and instruction. And they have an indoor range.
Also feel free to ask your local cops when you see them getting coffee at Wawa at 3am. Especially that cop with the shaved head (about 6'1", driving a Crown Vic)
I'll show you how the cops train. It involves lots of dogs.Last edited by jw34; April 1st, 2015 at 03:52 AM.

We don't rise to our expectations, we fall to our level of training and proficiency.
If you have the means, get training, and practice what you learn there. In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796
