"Inexpensive" .45 230g FMJ in Philly/NJ/DE?
I was wondering if anyone could point me to relatively well-priced 230g FMJ .45 ammo an hour or less from Center City Philadelphia? I got 250 rounds of Magtech from MidwayUSA for about $18/box (not including shipping), and Targetmasters offered $19/box (not sure which brand). I know that the 1911 guys are talking of metal prices dropping, but I sure as heck haven't seen it yet. Any of you guys know where I can get Federal/Magtech/Speer Lawman/whatever brand for about $17-18/box (or cheaper)? I don't mind taking the bike an hour or so as long as I can stock up on cheap FMJ! Thanks.
Oh ps. After reading this thread, I'm not looking for Winchester white box. http://www.pafoa.org/forum/ammunitio...-problems.htmlLast edited by JerryOnly; September 1st, 2008 at 08:53 PM.

Try your local Dick's Sporting Goods at $15.98/box (or 14.98/box if you by 10) for Remington UMC 230gr FMJ. If you're south of Philly a little, there's one just north of Wilmington, DE that has it.

Oh that's a good question--is there no sales tax on the ammo in DE?

NJ stores may not sell you "handgun ammunition" without NJ paperwork. I saw a sign to that effect last time I was in a Dick's in NJ. You might want to call and check if you are planning to head out there.

You might want to call Kings Shooter Supply in KOP. They have pretty good prices on ammo.
Unfortunatly Wally World might be the best bet for cheap ammo.
