How come whenever I see the letters pr in a thread they are underlined?

If you point your cursor at the underlined pr in your sentence above....the hint bubble comes up saying "page ranking"....?

    Mrjam,

I dont know if it makes a difference in FF or not. When it gets highlighted, try double clicking again.

    Shawn,

It's not underlined for me either, however if i hover the mouse over it, it brings up the "page ranking" icon

Ok...i just checked using Internet Explorer. Using that browser the pr is NOT underlined. When i double clicked it brought up the little menu that smalls got.

In Firefox, the pr is underlined like below...and double clicking does not do anything. Ungawa are you using Firefox?

But in both cases the hint bubble came up saying "Page Ranking"

Only thing that I can think of is that it's specific to your computer browser. Something like an add-on software application or if you have your browser search on for pr

Because the forum software is using acronym tags for SEO:

    <acronym title="Page Ranking">pr</acronym>

that is wrapped around the PR in your post. It REALLY helps SEO because the tag includes the spelled out word for the acronym, hence adding keyword content to the site. (search engine 'spiders' read the title attribute of the acronym tag)

The underline is from the style sheet (CSS) ... I actually use the same thing on my site, for the same reason but I also include a hover that shows a question mark ... look here (using FF):

    http://davidcdalton.com/java-php-database-programming

scroll down the page until you see something like PHP underlined, then hover over it and you will get a question mark and then the title words will show in a small box.

    Great SEO (search engine optimization)

[edit] the question mark and title 'popup' also work in IE & Chrome, just the underlining doesn't work (poor CSS implementation in the browser)[/edit]
