Unertl scope 32x

I am buying a used gun with a Unertl 32x which I will probably sell, its just to long over 2 ft
The fellow tells me this scope was enhanced by John Unertl ?? but he does not know what enhanced means.
Scope is in 98% condition with screwin lens covers and mounting system
any Idea of value ?

Manitou my father used to do work for John when the shop was still in bussiness. East st is very close to the burg. The stuff John did could have been almost anything the customer wanted but was more than likely the cross hairs changed to the dot, or the reverse, sometimes they would change the focus, or the power, engraving also comes to mind. I would be interested if you sell it for old times sake. Pm me and we can discuss Mtn Jack

Probably not worth much, I'll give you 20 bucks for it. Seriously............... you will regret selling it. Very top quality. If it's already mounted and sighted in give it a try for a while. You may end up liking it. I don't own a gun worthy of a scope that good.

The enhancement to this Unertl scope was to increase the power from 24X To 32X.

I see this brand of scope on 1903's at shows from time to time...if it were me, I'd keep it on there.

I believe you could be right but scope has marked on it clearly 32x in white embeded right in scope near eye piece. ??

could have been engraved after the enhancement was done.

When the scope power is increased from 24X to 32X the scope "power ring" with the engraving of either 24X or 32X is changed also....so "enhanced" scope will be marked 32X.......Orginally Unertl 2" target models were only offered up to 24X. The "enhancement" actually consisted of a new 32X objective eyepice and the new 32X engraved "power ring"

Over the years I have been fortunate to shoot a number of rifles that had Unertl scopes on them. A classy piece of equipment that just isn't made any more. Keep it. Use it. Or sell it to some one who will care about it.

a scope like that was made to fit my Stevens 416. too bad they are too damn expensive. if i were you, keep it, they can get a high premium on the market.
