basically it's meant to be proudly shown flying in the wind, going forward into battle. If you see it from the right side, that's how it would look.

ok i'm sorry, i guess not everyone would know that, but my point was more that this guy Phil from NH goes and creates this whole "effort to educate America" about flag rules and customs, and yet isn't educated enough to do a simple search. I even just put "american flag backwards" into google and got the answer back in the results.

Now that I looked at the link...

The flag worn on the right shoulder is supposed to be worn stars to the right...just as in the pictures. It's to be worn so the stars are "closest to your heart".

Thing I did not know, the right is reserved as a place of Honor for military men when a picture is taken... Oddly enough, when I was taken in picture with Tyler before he left for Iraq, i was directly to his right.
