Cheapo/Improvised Range Bags?
I went to the range for the first time last week. I brought my revolver in a hard case and a paper sack with two boxes of ammo in it. I rented eye and hearing protection.
Now that I've purchased my own shooting glasses and earplugs, it's occurred to me that a gun (or guns), ammo, PPE, etc is a lot of shit to carry and keep track of if it's not all in the same place. I guess this is where a range bag comes in.
I'm a college student and don't have a lot of money to piss away invest in non-essentials, but it would really be nice to have something halfway decent-looking to lug my crap around in. I've seen a lot of $100+ range bags, which sort of blows my mind.
Do most folks hunker down and shell out the cash for a range bag? Or do they do what I'm thinking of and use a laptop bag or something similar? What do you use?"I really have the American dream licked." -- Ted Nugent

Hit up local Goodwills. I've gotten two decent range bags from them. Really just repurposed duffel/carry on bags.

I use a green box I got in Walmart in the sporting goods section. It has 3 different large compartments. a top self and a small storage compartment on the lid + its water proof. Was under $20

Whatever will hold the stuff. Personally, I have a tool bag I bought used at a yard sale. Range bags aren't much of a status symbol, IMO.

What also works is a camera bag. Fairly inexpensive, lots of compartments. Just remember to get one a fair size as things tend to grow some, more guns, ammo and accessories for range.

I use camera bags, tool bags, tool boxes, breif cases (with padded inserts). Most if not all bought at thrift stores/flea markets/garage sales.
I would suggest that if you use a camera/computer bag that you be very careful to cover them up if leaving them in your car. Someone may break in to steal a camera or computer and end up stealing your firearm.Koli's back from Ambler.

hell even a cheap plastic tackle box will work.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.
