Default Need help with a Gun Show...

My fire department is in desperate need of a profitable fundraiser.

I brought up the idea of having a gun show. We have plenty of room, with plenty of parking. The place is about a mile of the main road (RT 422).

Well, you know how it goes. The guy that brings up an idea gets volunteered to do all the work. Since I've never done anything like this before, I was wondering if anyone here could give me some guidance?

    Thanks,
    Jake

As a fellow FireFighter always willing to help out the Brotherhood , I'll give ya all the free advice you want ( and some you dont ) for the low low price of a Bushmaster M4 Flattop and an HKUSP .40 plus 1k rounds of ammo split 50/50 between .40 and .556

Hell , I'll even drive over and help with set up , clean up, ticket taking and security !

It may be easier to set up and more profitable if you do a Gun Bash vs a Gun show.

I have never set up one of these before but I know lots of Gun clubs and other such as Fire Departments do Gun Bashes for fund raisers.

Also remember that you can do other things such as 50/50 and strip tickets to increase the money earned.

My gun club does it and they said at the meeting that it is one of their better fund raisers.

    Think about it.

The gun raffle route may be easier. Maybe contact someone that does the gun show circuit for how to set one up.

The department got burned on a gun raffle / bash deal in the past, they refuse to do anything like that again. It alot of convincing to get them to go along with buying ONE to raffle off. That and the 50/50 is all I got so far.

I have no clue where to start...

I would reach out to the gilbertsville FD, they do gun shows. I believe that that they have them twice a year.

Why not talk to local shops to see if any of them would be willing to donate a gun or two for a raffle with the agreement that the flyers etc will say "Raffle includes one [make model] donated by Store A, one [make model] donated by Store B..." Its free advertising and good PR for supporting the local FD.
Please help my Baby Kitties and I avoid being homeless.
