    Default AR- Woo Hoo!

Yup. Went to my favorite enabler (stole that from somebody here, thank you very much) and put a Stag Arms AR on layaway yesterday. I was torn between that or a Mini 14, but I kept hearing the Mini 14 has accuracy issues. I also picked up 40 rounds of .223. I think I'll grab a box or two every time I go in, so by the time I get the AR out (probably Spring) I'll have a whole lot of bang. I was looking at a DPMS, but the Stag had the forward assist and a dust cover. Can any Stag owners pass on any good info on this Zombie killer?

Next up comes an SR 9 for the boss lady and a 22/45 for cheap plinking. Maybe an AK next, or... ? Looks like that .30-30 just keeps getting farther and farther away. I'm confident I'll be able to buy a .30-30 this time next year, but the AR/AK, who knows?

    Congrats on the rifle!
I have 2 Stags and both are 100% reliable and accurate.
If you do some searching online,
I'm sure you'll find many many comments on their excellent quality, durability, etc.
    You won't be dissappointed!

    Ahhhhhh! Very nice pick up.
An AR is the way to go.
There are so many cool accessories, you will lose your mind.
If your going to buy a lot of ammo, buy it in bulk from online suppliers. It is cheaper than buying at your dealer.
And don't forget lots and lots of mags...Magpul P-Mags are the best.

Stag makes an accellent AR in fact you will find that a lot of companies contract stag to make various parts for them.

Good buy and hang in lay-awake is hard...

    Hey, folks-

Thanks for all the responses and advice. I'm going to stock up on mags, I figure 10 should be a good start. I buy ammo 20 rounds at a time. I know I don't get a price break, but it's easier to spend $8.99 at a time, many times, than it is to spend $150. once. It's like hoarding change. You don't miss it while you're saving it, but when you count it up you have something.

True, layaway is a long, drawn out affair, but I have a few toys to keep me occupied while I pay down the balance. Springtime will be here before you know it, and I'll be zeroing for zombies! Hey, I like that one. New sig line, coming up!

Nice. I wish I could get back that feeling I had when I bought my first AR. I've acquired several since and I didn't feel the same as I did after I got my first one.

While I have no experience with Stag rifles, I've built two AR's on Stag stripped lowers and I have no complaints.

You have no excuses now for not having a rifle for ACSHA action shoots when they start up again next spring.
