http://www.myfoxphilly.com/story/191...on-our-streets
PHILADELPHIA -
Every day on FOX 29, we bring you stories from your communities on gun violence. It's a sad reality that's destroying lives and ruining futures.
It's happening everywhere. And it's an epidemic that's getting worse.
On Thursday night, FOX 29 photojournalist Kenyatta Henderson goes in-depth in just one neighborhood that has seen much more than its share of tragedy, asking what can we do?
After you watch the video, we want to hear your suggestions. On Twitter, use the hashtag #FOX29Philly. Or, let us know on our FOX 29 Facebook page.
Sound off and share your thoughtsMikeP

That's a lie.
The FBI recently released its Crime in The United States statistics for 2010. Overall, murders in the U.S. have decreased steadily since 2006, dropping from 15,087 to 12,996. Firearms murders — which made up 67 percent of all murders in the U.S. in 2010 — have followed this trend, decreasing by 14 percent.

Gun violence, that reminds me of the one night I got woken from a deep sleep because all the guns in my safe were fighting violently. Them dam guns get violent if you don't take them out occasionally.

Well we could try ending drug prohibition, nobody is getting shot up over bathtub gin anymore. And I highly doubt that thugs can compete with Walmart's pricing...

"Gun violence" : another emotionally charged phrase to try to get you to think that the world will suddenly become non-violent if guns are taken away after 5000+ years of violence, most of which took place before the invention of the firearm.
I love that thought of guns sparring off against each other all by themselves in a safe!...and they have a plan...

That, and they ran hookers and sold lottery tickets and extorted businesses and they infiltrated the unions and they had bookies and they hijacked trucks and stole merchandise off the docks.....
There will always be a "next-most-profitable" crime, just like there's always another way for criminals to get guns after a new gun control infringement. Sure, you can reduce reported crimes by making fewer things illegal, just like we can eliminate criminal pedophilia* by making it legal. But there will be some bad unintended consequences.
*For the usual drug-addled debaters who lack basic reading comprehension skills, no, I'm not "comparing weed to raping kids", I'm pointing out that reducing crime is about more than making harmful acts legal so they don't count as "crimes". Our society is harmed by additional stoned drivers, workers, and caregivers, whether that activity is legal or illegal.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com
