Pennsylvania Trooper Honored for Rescuing Fire Victim

EBENSBURG, Pa. --

A state trooper and a civilian were honored Wednesday for entering a burning home and helping a person inside get out safely.

State Trooper James Williams and 29-year-old Adam Lewis, of Patton, were honored with letters of recognition at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Ebensburg for their heroic actions.

Capt. Harvey Cole said the two men acted selflessly when they saved another person from the blaze. Williams and Lewis said they didn't think about becoming heroes but acted on their instincts when they ran into the McGee Avenue home on Jan. 28 and found a disoriented person.

Williams said firefighters arrived quickly but said he feared the resident would have likely been in the midst of flames if the two men hadn't been in the right place at the right time.

There are good LEO's out there, but just like gun owners others make us look bad. So goes it in the Police world I am glad he got rewarded for doing a good thing, and going above and beyond the call of duty.
