Re: FNAR rifle thoughts
it's pretty pricey, but an out-of-the-box tack driver, by all reviews. full length upper Picatinny, and tri-rail fore end for gadgets. Getting an "as accurate" AR-10 is probably quite a bit more, but you have more aftermarket options.
The FNAR, you just pick up, and keep putting rounds in the same spot. avg $1600 for the light barrel, close to $2,000 for the heavy. The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Re: FNAR rifle thoughts
Speaking as a fan of FN firearms (own a PS90, want to own an FS2000 and others...), I have to say this is one gun they lost me on. It's fugly and more expensive than the ultra-cool, ultra-proven M14/M1A. It also doesn't seem to bring any new functionality to the table for the expense. (Example, FS2000 is 5.56, just like an AR, but it ejects forwards, shorter due to bullpup config, "improved" ergonomics, etc...)
Did I mention I think it's fugly?

Re: FNAR rifle thoughts
I purchased the heavy barrel version and am very pleased with it. Have had an M1A in the past and have to say that I prefer the FNAR. You would pay much more to get an M1A that is just as accurate out of the box. The only dissapointment was that FN dropped the ball on magazine availability. Hopefully that will change before the next AWB goes through.

I have friend...no really I do.
Anyway, he has a light barrel and it's very very accurate right out of the box."Having a gun and thinking you are armed is like having a piano and thinking you are a musician" Col. Jeff Cooper (U.S.M.C. Ret.)

Re: FNAR rifle thoughts
It is lighter and cheaper than a full-boat NM M1A or an AR-10T. (well, mebbe the same as the ar10t in weight), and it comes with a semi-adjustable stock setup. And I think it can be made commiefornia legal.
