    Default Gun control and ideals in Switzerland

    http://worldradio.ch/wrs/news/video/...it.shtml?14430

    This is a very interesting view into Switzerland's gun culture. Looks like they have to deal with antis like we do.
    I wouldn't mind being given a pair of real Sigs by the government!!

    Yeah, good video. Thanks! I've known about the Swiss gun laws for a while now (actually used them as an example for a pro-gun speech in 9th grade), and learned more recently about the high suicide rates. But, as the pro-gun guy said, it's not about the guns when it comes to suicide. If you want to kill yourself, you'll find a way whether you have one or not.

    Hell, I'm moving! That is also the nicest range that I've ever seen pictured.

    Seems like most of the posters in the comments have thier heads screwed on pretty tight. Somebody even said to watch out for Sarah Brady, and that we (Americans) loath her as much as (insert political figure from Netherlands)

    There are two ways to keep a nation safe;

    1 - Allow the population to keep personal firearms. This must mean the government trusts it people and can't oppress them, for obvious reasons.....

    2 - Ban all private ownership of guns and recruit and train a permanent army. This means the government doesn't trust the citizens and taxes have to be raised to pay the soldiers.

    The Swiss opted for option 1 and weren't invaded during WW2. I like option 1, I imagine other people do too.......

    I'm halfway through the comments, and I must say I am surprised. I've only seen two anti-gun comments. I figured the antis would be on this like white on rice.

    Please don't draw conclusion by misrepresenting facts. Switzerland was not invaded during WWII because it's a declared neutral nation based on Sections 5 and 13 Hague Convention of 1907, which defines the rights and duties of a neutral county. The primary right is that a neutral country may not be invaded.
