Space saving Rifle Rack
Run out of room in your safe?
I sure did,
I was tired of the rifles taking over the broom closet,
So I came up with this idea.
My seldom used powder room which is 52" square, I thought would make a good place, It's small and gets used about 2x a year.
So up go a couple of 2x4s, I still need to cover them with felt, But you get the idea, And A lock will be installed this week for when no one is home for a few days
From the floor looking up
Through the open door.

Cool idea, I just keep mine in cases leaning against the all.
p.s.

Great idea, but how do you take them out? Take out the short ones, then turn the long ones sideways!

There is more than 12" between wood and ceiling, Most I can just tip the stock end up and bring out barrel end first, The longest ones, Same thing, But need to move them about 1 foot sideways first.
Pretty darn easy to get them out and they dont come out too often.
It's way better then the broom closet, At least now I dont worry at all about them getting scuffed!

I can imagine the look the the government agents face when he walks into your house looking for guns and he can't find them anywhere. Just picture him standing underneath all those guns and saying "I guess there's no guns here"

When I have a few folks over, I will direct them into that bath/gun room
And see what they say when they come back...
I wonder if a guy taking a quick #1 would notice?
So far so good with them up there,,, I am glad to have them out of the broom closet!
