What/how does your wife or girl friend carry?

My girlfriend is now pursuing getting her ltcf after finally getting comfortable with me carrying for some time now, as well as getting comfortable with all my guns. Shes about 5'3 100lbs, with smaller girl hands. we've been trying to find something she likes that isnt too huge as she has a very small frame. but i dont want her running around with a 25 thinking shes well protected.

We are just wondering what other ladies out there are carrying, maybe there are a few guns that i haven't thought of to have her check out. And how are they carrying i prefer that shes carries on her person, not in her purse.

Shes quite comfortable with the recoil of a .40 s&w so pretty much any caliber is fair game.

Good friend of mine carries a glock 19 and she loves it, now she's looking for something with more power (cue Tim the "Tool Man" Taylor more power!) and she is very eager to try Open Carry.
I love knowng women that carry! Met a few from here too. All great people.

My wife doesn't carry yet, but I understand your problem.

The most important factor doesn't depend on the gun or the caliber. It is in her brain. If she really realizes that she needs a gun, she will find one she likes. If not, showing her all the guns in the world will not do.

Unfortunately, you can't push that one.

Why don't you both come to a group shoot. Lots of guns to try out for size.

Unfortunately Colagrrl won't be there with her collection but there will be other women who can let her know what works for them.

I don't carry much, but when I do, it's a Glock 23 (40 cal). I don't necessarily recommend it, though...I'd like something a little smaller.

I know this isn't really your question, but I just wanted to mention....if possible, have her try different guns AND different holsters. To me, the holster made more of a difference than the size of the gun in regards to carrying. I love my blackhawk serpa, but with my hipbones, concealing it (without looking like I have a giant hip tumor) is close to impossible.

I went to Ace (on a day they weren't swarmed with people), grabbed some holsters off the shelf, then asked them if I could use their gun in the case to try the holsters out on my body. They were cool about it. I still haven't found one I love, but I've ruled out a lot of styles.

My wife has been carrying since the mid 80's, her list of different carry guns is extensive to say the least. Her list of training classes even more so.

Her current everyday 24/7/365 carry gun is a Glock 26 in a F.I.S.T. ultra thin kydex IWB holster. This holster has the leather split loops. She has been using this set up for the past 2+ years, and really likes it.

Mrs. Curmudgeon carries a Beretta 8045 Cougar, .45, 8+1 single stack, ~4 inch barrel, OWB 3:00, Galco Fletch holster...

Casually held for comparison to her hand. She's 5'6", maybe a size 10...

Tootie has two carry guns right now. She carries a KelTec P-11 when she OC's and a KelTec 32 auto in an ankle holster when she goes to the gym.

Here HOPEFULLY real soon she will be carrying my G27 (as soon as I get my FRIGGIN GD SOB MF DAMN Kimber
