Security Breech!!!!
Last night I tried to warn you about this "Erin Pavlina" thing being the Feds infiltrating this site!! I gave the facts about how I knew this, and right after that THE ENTIRE THREAD DISAPEARED!! Someone said that anti-spyware would keep Tracking Cookies out of your computer, WRONG!!!! My computer has the latest Norton security systems, and they have just been breeched by this website!!!!
I have been in contact with Norton all morning, and they inform me that I AM NOW BEING MONITORED!!!! WTF????
The Pavlina "person" got these websites from doing a search: Guns Are Fun
What does that tell you??
Well, now that everything I do on my computer is being watched, I GUESS THIS ENTIRE THREAD WILL DISAPEAR AS SOON AS I POST THIS!!!!

Re: Security Breech!!!!
can you give us any more details about the spyware that norton says was installed (file names, etc.)? did norton give you any of that? did they tell you how to remove it?
how do they know the spyware was installed as a result of the pavlina thing?
also, did you actually click on the link in the pavlina PM and go to another website? or did you just read the PM?
government spyware definitely exists...whether or not this was a case of government planted spyware. and, some people claim that norton, etc. ignore government spyware (i.e., don't detect it) on purpose. i dunno...maybe.
here are some interesting articles:

http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/securit...9280165,00.htm
http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/200...s-court-c.html
(doing a google--web and groups--search for erin pavlina does not bring up links that lead you to think this person has anything to do with the government, but ones that would make you think she is trying to sell books. if erin pavlina did have anything to do with government spyware, i would expect there to be some chatter about it...but maybe not.)
personally, i think the best spyware remover is SpyBot Search & Destroy...which you can download for free from:

First, everyone needs to dump Internet Explorer for either FireFox or something else. You will discover that life will be much easier and secure. You could then take off the tin-foil hat.

Re: Security Breech!!!!
I run the latest Norton as well and update everyday. It's a good program. However, I run ad-aware a couple times a day and it always finds those cookies even after a full Norton scan. Tracking cookies are made to monitor you. Thats what they do. They're not nessesarily evil, but intusive. So yeah, if you called norton and said you have tracking cookies on your puter, they would inform you that you're being monitored. Just get something to clean em up. I wouldn't get the foil hat out yet.

Cookies also do nice things for ya like logging you into this website each time you visit.
Cookies are not a big deal. They can be very tasty.
+1 on FireFox. I ditched IE years ago.Μολὼν λάβε
