    Default Ammo in bags????

I searched but came up empty...

I'm not going to start another .22 where is it thread. I can find it, just have to be patient and Lucky.

    My only question is....

Can they legally distribute ammo in zip lock baggies???

I know they don't get shipped in from the distributor in bags haha.

Example...If they get a brick of 500 or even 5000. Distribute it so you can only take a zip lock bag of 50 rounds, and I know they can price it at whatever they want.

But it seems this should be an illegal act, breaking it down and selling in baggies. At the end of the day their making 4 times what they would of made (not the issue, if you can make it, go for it.)

I thought you could only bag reloads, but I am curious and do not know.

    Thanks for your time.

    See attached.

Don't think there's anything illegal about it, but it's definitely in bad taste. Did you see this at a local shop?

Hmmm interested question. I know there are certain products (soda and candy, that I have seen) that are marked "FOR RESALE" or "NOT FOR RESALE" although I am not sure if there is any legal bearing on those markings.

It's a BIG no-no for retailers to do this with cigarettes, however that is just the state wanting the proper tax revenue.

Biggest issue I could see is some kind of failure and not being able to send in original box to the manufacturer, or give a lot number etc.

Doesn't seem kosher from outward appearances, however I cannot think of any laws stopping a LGS from doing this. Assuming proper tax is paid, of course.

Okay, I didn't know if it was. I was really curious and I found it in bad taste also.

Like honestly, what am I going to do with 50 rounds of .22? Lol.

And yes, a shop is doing this. I do not want to disclose any names as I'm not here to turn anyone in or turn business away from them.

If you want to know you can pm me.

Classic! Look like Remington thunderbolts. They probably got a brick of 525 and split them up to maximize $$... nothing wrong with that i guess, but it is pretty damn hilarious... Guns shops are the new drug dealers, and its .22, not heroin, that is the drug!!

Interesting. I've never seen this, and was curious.

    Are the drums reloads?

I just don't see how they can just dumb out all the bullets into a bin and say here you go.

I've only been into guns for 3-4 years now, and have always bought a box and never seen this. So I may be new to the who baggie/drum thing.

Other than in the case of the manufacture having a recall, what is the difference between buying a baggie of 50 or a box of 50. Maybe the LGS is trying to get the .22 into more buyers hands. I would buy .22s right now no matter how they are package. I my self buy the 525 or 550 packs and repackage them in the plastic 100 boxes, because my granddaughter insist that any ammo that goes to the range gets shot. So instead of taking a box of 525, I take either 2 or 3 100 count boxes.
