OMG! Anyone watch the new 'Dogfights' on the History Channel ?!?!
WOW! I've always liked watching 'Dogfights'......but wow! It's been a while since I caught an episode and the new computer generated graphics freekin' blow my mind! It's totally tripping me out!
I find watching it much more exciting now.....I actually get the stomach willies with the 'pilot's perspective' or 'just behind the aircraft' video perspective.
GREAT show!
Any other fans out there?Gary in Pennsylvania

I thought that show got canceled? I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Is it still on Friday nights?

I just watched one a few hours ago. Love that show. Of course I'm a big fan of the F4 Phantom. That was a kick ass plane in its day.

Love that show. It was the first place I had heard of Taffy 3. If you havent heard about it read Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors. Awesome book. I'll have to keep an eye out for the new episodes of Dogfights.

If you like Dogfights or WW2 era aircraft in general, check this out:

I've played that for several years, pretty good sim, and the MMO aspect makes it that much more interesting.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Sounds like you know a thing or two about aircraft. I agree whole heartedly. There's often problems when you design a delivery vehicle around a payload, instead of the other way around. (though it's sometimes necessary, see NASA's STS)
Though, one very cool thing about the F-4 (with cannon pod, slats, new-er engines, and avionics - like those F-4s built by MHI in Japan) was its bang for the buck in survivability terms. While no match for today's single-role fighters (some read: "interceptors"), the F-4 surely deserves its place amongst aero greats. (at least for what it taught us about the AIM-9 as a replacement for an M-61 and the blunders of "multirole-ing" good ideas for fighter concepts)
