Well , here's my question .

Do you think you can take down a full grown Grizzly with a G-17 ?

There are myths of people putting elephants down with a .22 short.

So, I'm sure that with perfect bullet placement, the right weather, the right mindset, and the right alignment of the planets with the sun, it would be possible to down a full grown grizzly with a G17.

But I wouldn't recommend trying it.

In 2010 a man in Alaska shot and killed Griz with 9 shots from a .45. If 9 shots from a .45 can kill a griz then 18 shots of 9mm can.

False. Simply standing next to a .45 when it goes off would kill a grizzly!

TRUTH!! Surely, the only safe place to be when a .45 is discharged is either behind the holder of said weapon, or to actually be the holder of the weapon. Any other place withing earshot is 'dangerous territory'!

Even one 9mm round can certainly drop a grizzly. Probably not very hastily though, unless it was a shot through the eye or nasal cavity.

I really wanted someone to go there and read the post , the fact of the matter is he's going hunting for the bear with the intention of using the 9mm.
hunting , not a case of this is all I got but hunting it !
I have a G-17 and I love targeting with it but hunting ? I don't think so .
