Default First Attempt at Holster Making

So I got tired of my firearm sitting in the open slot for a drawer in a cheap apothecary's table I have and decided to make a leather holster for it so it would hang on the side instead. Its rough, its ugly, but with the table screwed to the side of the desk it does the job nicely.

doesn't look bad. Have you ever considered using a gun magnet?

I thought about that. I actually have a heavy magnet that will hold it, but the small table its on is wood and I'm concerned about a 3am fumbled grab sending it to the floor.

Yes its upside down. I was going to put it right side up until I realized that with it located on the front of the table rather than the back its easier for me to grab upside down. I laid on the bed in severl different positions and the only one where right side up was easier to grab was one where I wouldn't be able to actually draw it without changing position. I went with mounted on the front because if I'd mounted it on the back of the table it would be extremely difficult to get my hand on it if i needed it.

Give me a couple years, this was my first attempt and I followed instructions I found online*. I've been thinking about taking up leathercraft as a hobby for years, even got a partial kit from a friend that his step father had bought at a craft store (most of the tools were missing and there were no patterns in it). Thats actually where I got the leather from.

Looks neat. Also looks like you should have a claymore stuffed inside there
