    Default Anyone have any underhammers?

I've owned guns for over 20 years & love antiques, but somehow I missed seeing any underhammer guns until last Thursday. Since then I've been asking my gun lover friends if they've ever seen one & so far I'm telling them about something they had never heard of before.

So does anyone out there have some to show us?

I don't own one (yet...I want one now as a wall hanger just for the novelty) but, here are a few I found online:

Most of the underhammerrs I find are pistols:

here are some rifles & a flintlock but the photos are copyrighted so I'll put the link in here:

I belong to a muzzleloading gun club. One of the guys that use to come to our monthly shoots. Would buy old broken guns and make them shootable. He brought a couple of under hammer guns, plus wheel locks, matchlocks, mule eared locks(the hammer worked side ways). He would let you shoot anything he brought. I was always interested in what he had along. I have not seen him in a couple of years. Miss what he would bring.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.
