    Question PPK/S Magazine Hang-up Question

I was told by Smith & Wesson that the PPK/S is not designed to eject a magazine with a round in the chamber. With my PPK/S, if I try to eject the magazine, it get's hung up and if I can wiggle the magazine out, it looks like the top round is pushed forward and that is what is hanging up the magazine.

I told Smith @ Wesson that is a lousy design and if I know that I would not have purchased the pistol. Are any of you guys experiencing the same issue?

I have an Interarms PPKS and it will do the same thing . With HP ammo it don’t seem to be an issue. I can see how ball may hang up though.

Did you have a problem with it feeding when shooting it?

Thanks for a response. It seems to hang up with both ball and hollow point. I do not have any hang-up issues when firing the pistol.

What ammo are you using? Why is there a need to pull out the fully loaded mag?
Or are you trying to top off the mag?

Shoot that pistol in! A strong magazine spring can cause the problem you're experiencing. I've had a German Walther PPK-S for more than 30 years, now. It's a very well made pistol that, in all this time, has never once jammed on me - Never once!

There really shouldn't be a problem with the new Smith & Wesson Walthers. I'll suggest two other things: Don't top off the magazine; and, stop fiddling with the magazine while it remains almost fully loaded for awhile. (I very much doubt that it's the pistol - OK.)
