    Default Extra Ammo On Board

As you may know from the other thread, I got a Knoxx SpecOps NRS stock for my Mossberg 590. I am considering an extra ammo option but not sure what to get. I like the looks of the stock mounted shell holder, but I think the side saddle holder is cool too! (as well as functional) Also, what other makes are out there? All I can find is TacStar and Knoxx Powerpak. I'd like to hear your opinions on extra ammo options and also any other product brands that you know of.

3 gun gear makes one that is velcro'd on. You mount a piece of velcro to the receiver, then you can put your pre-loaded side saddle(s) in AR15 mag pouches.

I consider stock mounted ammo carriers a non-option as they preclude weak side mount/shooting of the weapon.
Also consider the weight the carriers add to an already heavy gun.

I go with the side saddle and a belt storage or shoulder bag for ammo.
There are various quick attach belt carriers/pouches. Including the
CCW Speed Stripper. Clips right on your belt in a jiffy...

While I like most Knoxx products, I here these can be problematic and bulky/in the way.

Elastic shell holder for your stock. $7 at K-mart. It's not Zombie-chic but it's functional! Mine's served me well for about 8 seasons of waterfowl and small game and it's holding #4 buck and slugs in the safe as we speak. But then again, it looks like crap!
