Question Can you recommend a good .40 S&W pistol?

Saw the Beretta 9000sf .40 S & W on SALE at Gander Mt. for $350ish. I was tempted to pick one up. I have a Steyr in .40 S & W and have come to really prefer the caliber. I have a SIG P-225 (very nice shape) that I could sell to buy the Beretta, but the reviews on the 9000sf have not been too promising.

This gun, of course, would be a later production model and Gander Mt. DOES offer a 12 month in-house gunsmith service warranty on what they sell.

What are the good guns out there in .40 S&W in the $400 range? I would prefer a DA/SA pistol.

Hey, and you gotme before I had proofed it too! Took the 40p out of the selection and noted I forgot the M&P which is a real sleeper.

Actually they have used police issue Glock 22's for like $360.....but I was staying "new".

I just recently purchased a 4006 S/W from gander Mtn for $440 excellent caliber with some kick! My smith is awesome! But, its all a matter of personal preference if you ask me , what fits in the hand works for me! The beretta was another great choice me love the weight of the gun but not a choice for a CCW. Good luck!

S&W is currently offering a $50 rebate and two magazine with the purchase of a new M&P.
