refinishing a glock?
Is there any way to get the slide on a Glock 26 refinished? Mine has some weird rubbing discoloration on it because it was in a pouch with something metal and it looks like some of the anodization either rubbed off or degraded or something. In any case I'm just curious. It's all superficial discoloration, nothing functionally wrong with it.
Never, never, NEVER talk to the police. Ever.

Re: refinishing a glock?
I've heard of people polishing the slide. The buff off all of the black coating and it looks like polished SS. I also seen somebody on here duracoat a Glock, he actually custom paints them here's the link:

Glock will also refinish the slide for $50-$70 (Haven't confirmed just read about it). Hope this helpsAny vote for a third party is a vote for a Democrat. You are the enemy.

Re: refinishing a glock?
Let me know what you find out, I have some discoloration on the slide of my Glock 19 and I don't know what the hell its from. None of my other ones have it. I can clean it with the CLP and it kind of shines it up, but it comes back. I thought the tenifer finish would keep that from happening, guess i was wrong. Anyway, nothing wrong with the gun and the discoloration is subtle, just annoys me
Now less Glock, more H&K :)

Re: refinishing a glock?
The Tenifer is below the black finish...the two are separate processes/ treatments.
Having Glock do it would be the best way to return it to "stock". Other companies offer different finishes which are also very good...it just might look a little different than the stock finish.

Re: refinishing a glock?
I have read that people have contacted Glock about the finish on their guns and depending on age, have had Glock "warranty" the finish.
I only know of this as internet chatter, but I guess it may be worth a try.

Rock Your Glock, slide refinishing and more. I have never had any work done by them, but the photos look good.

Re: refinishing a glock?
If you send it back to Glock in GA they will reblacken your slide. It costs $35 a few years ago call customer service for the current price.

Re: refinishing a glock?
Just spoke to Ken at Glock in Smyrna, GA and he said that they would refinish it free of charge. Would take about 6 weeks, just send the slide with a note saying that I spoke to him and they would take care of it. Now he said he can't guarantee that it won't come back number 1 because he doesn't have it yet to look at it and number 2 because he said something with the chemical blah blah blah, he lost me there. He said that it will not affect the pistols corrosion resistance. Anyway, it may be worth a shot since its free I just don't know if I'm gonna do it yet.

Re: refinishing a glock?
I might be alone in this, but I think cosmetic wear and tear on a carry gun is kind of a cool thing...especially for a Glock.
