Re: ever did the math.....
don't ever do that - geesh. Whatever you do don't let the wife see the list (if you have a wife).
Another fun eye opener is to total up the money you've spent on ammo and accessories.
I added up how much money I had tied up in just gun mags. - it came to $3600. That’s a lot of money to just hold bullets - plus, it doesn't even include the cost of the ammo in the mags. Not all of them are loaded but I’m sure it's still a lot.
Actually, if you have a large collection, it's a good idea to keep a list with value so you can get add on insurance for your homeowners insurance. Because most homeowners policies only cover a certain amount and unless you add a rider, you'll be screwed if you need to make a claim.

Re: ever did the math.....
Sick, as in not enough? Or, sick as in too many?
If it's too many, you're on the wrong forum.
How ever many (or few) I have at any given time is just the right number.Well, pushed 60 too hard so now I am the big SIX-OH. Now I can be a real pain in the ass! And, who says growin' old isn't fun!!

Re: ever did the math.....
Every gun, vehicle, musical instrument, and accessories combined don't add up to the amount of money I've invested in ex's who weren't worth the time of day. If you really want to feel sick, go through your financial books and see how much you've spent on someone else. Punch in the data and line graph it in Excel for extra shock value.

Re: ever did the math.....
I did this a few years ago - looking at just the firearm cost - for myself and my father's collection. I figure that, even though the cost may seem high, I could sell the collection and easily make net profit off of it, especially at today's inflated prices. I consider my firearms to be investments, as well as "my toys." (Now, I would never sell them, but that's what I tell my wife when I bring something new home.)

Re: ever did the math.....
I use a computer program "Lee shooter". It has a place that you can put the cost of the piece. It then adds it up. So I have a pretty good idea.
I have more money in safes then a lot of people have in guns.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.
