Since we don't have a bill to read yet, it only a guess, but I would say "yes, they would also be banned from privately owning an AR".

But, here's the good news. If they ban guns, the police don't need them either. They can be just like the British police armed with a whistle.

Yeah, unfortunately, if there's a ban, we the popo have to follow the same rules when not working.
I'd be able to play with the toys at work, but I'd imagine I'd be a criminal if I had any at home.
Prime example is New Jersey. I believe I've read a few threads about officers in NJ being arrested for owning "assault" rifles or "hi-cap" mags personally.

I've got no problem following the rules like everyone else does. It's just ridiculous that the antis think quantity of bullets in a mag will help anything. I can reload pretty darn quick.

Yup, I hear if you limit gas tanks to being no more than 5 gallons, no one could speed.

There's nothing unfortunate about this. It should be viewed as incentive for a few hundred thousand police officers to oppose any ban, just like us civilians.

Unfortunate, as in unfortunate for ALL Americans.
And I'd say 95% of us do oppose a ban. The other 5% don't know the difference between a magazine and a clip.
I guarantee that if there's a "seizure" of weapons, us locals will not be the ones doing it. I'm either quitting my job or calling off sick for a month if ordered the enforce unconstitutional seizures.

They stick chips that prevent some cars from going over 100 or so mph. Funny thing is people that want to go faster simply remove them and put more horsepower in their cars defeating that purpose.

Our laws and bans are full of exemptions for the politically connected and those who would be needed to protect them. Just like the upper elite in any Communist Country.
Lower your expectations to zero and you'll never be disappointed.
